In September 2024, Nepal experienced unprecedented rainfall, leading to severe flooding and landslides across the country. The heavy downpours had devastating effects, particularly in the central and eastern regions. The HRDC was not spared from the impacts of this heavy rainfall event, experiencing significant challenges as a result. The north side of the boundary wall was severely damaged, increasing the vulnerability of the hospital’s patient ward block. As a result, constructing retaining walls became essential to stabilize the land. Hence, the project includes guidance for constructing shear walls along with landscaping in the designated area.
